This is a luxurious red velvet skirt suit by Yves Saint Laurent from the Fall/Winter 1993 collection. The red velvet jacket closes with a single gripoix style button closure at the round neck, and is cut away from the neck. The button is orange and red glass in textured gold, and the jacket has shoulder pads for structure.

The matching pencil skirt is also red velvet, and hits just above the knee. This vintage YSL jacket was featured on the runway at the time with a ruffled collar blouse underneath and a pair of matching trousers.

The jacket and skirt are fully lined. The velvet is 70% cotton and 30% rayon. Labeled a 40. It can fit a range of sizes because of the nature of the cut of the jacket.

Excellent condition - the skirt was altered at some point to accommodate a larger size. A few small minor rubs to fabric.

The jacket is labeled a size 40, and the skirt 38. They fit like a size large.
